Night Market on St. Claude, New Orleans Open Studios, Draw-a-thon, New Orleans Food Co-op Grand Opening, and much more St. Claude Avenue
On Saturday, November 12th, St. Claude Avenue will come alive with a number of special events, all happening between Elysian Fields and Poland Avenue. Visitors from around the city will have the opportunity to see how this once forgotten corridor has come back to life and is quickly becoming the heart of downtown’s culture and commerce. This is the night to come find out what downtown is all about!
First, St. Claude Main Street and the Louisiana Office of Culture, Recreation and Tourism will host two events on St. Claude Avenue as part of Louisiana’s statewide “Cultural Road Show”.
From 12pm to 6pm, St. Claude Main Street will host New Orleans Open Studios, an annual event that invites artists in the Marigny, Bywater, Lower Ninth Ward, St. Claude, and St. Roch to open their studio to the public for an afternoon self-guided tour. A limited edition map of the open studios will be available to visitors.
Then, from 6pm-10pm, the Night Market on St. Claude located at 4000 St. Claude Ave. will feature vendors, artisans and entertainment for revelers at the Second Saturday gallery openings. The Night Market will include the work of local artists for sale, live entertainment from the band Bunga Bunga, and food vendors including a mobile version of Pizza Delicious and other local culinary artisans.
In addition to these events, our partners along the St. Claude Corridor will be hosting the following events:
The Grand Opening of the New Orleans Food Coop at the Healing Center on St. Claude Avenue
St. Claude Arts District Second Saturday Gallery Events will include a number of exhibitions and new shows at galleries including The Front, Antenna and others
The annual Draw-A-Thon will be hosted at the old ironworks building off of St. Claude by the Press Street Collective
All of these events are in addition to the regularly scheduled events and entertainment on St. Claude Ave, at venues including Allways Lounge, Siberia, Shadowbox Theater, HiHo, Saturn Bar and more.
